From the Archive: the tower of St Patrick’s is just visible in the top-left corner of this 1854 photo of St Mary’s Wynd. A Cistercian convent and hospital dedicated to Our Lady stood on this site in the Middle Ages, giving the wynd its name. Although the wynd and all its buildings were demolished in 1867, the present-day St Mary’s Street still reminds us of Edinburgh’s Catholic past.
This week’s Saturday morning talk will be on Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary, at 10am in the Memorial Hall, followed by Holy Hour and Mass. All welcome!
A wonderful pilgrimage last Sunday to pray for the beatification of the Venerable Margaret Sinclair. Hundreds of pilgrims came from across the country to visit her tomb and entrust their petitions to her.
Many congratulations to Corrie and Brodie, who were married at St Patrick’s on Our Lady’s Nativity.
Starting today, St Patrick’s will be open daily from 8am-7pm (6pm on Sundays). Come and pay a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, just off the Royal Mile in the centre of the Old Town.
